”New knowledge arises out of taking radically different conceptual blocs, rubbing them together and making revolutionary fire” - Karl Marx.

In Das Capital, Karl Marx generated new frameworks through the confluence of three blocks of knowledge: 18th and 19th century political economy, Greek philosophy and utopian socialism.

In the text Ruthless Criticism of All That Exists Marx praised the figures of history who had analyzed the world through the same operation: the friction between different conceptual blocks to create revolutionary fire.

In the late 1960s and 1970s, different events changed the global political landscape. From the leftist theoretical thought, Karl Marx's work was analyzed through structural critique. Several of the collectives that carried out this operation were: the Neue Marx-Lektüre, Theorie Communiste or the Situationist International.

On the other hand, there also arose other aspects linked to the approach the future derived from a dystopian gaze derived from the changes that were taking place in the economic and political spheres. These representations, both literary and filmic, sketched, in most cases, antitheses of the utopian visions of the future. Within this trend we find films such as Jean Luc-Godard's Alphaville, Ridley Scott's Blade Runner or the Max Headroom series.

This project focuses on the idea of creating "revolutionary fire" through the friction of blocks of knowledge such as those described above. .

En El Capital, Karl Marx generó nuevos marcos de conocimiento a través de la confluencia de tres bloques de conocimiento: la economía política del S.XVIII y XIX, la filosofía griega y el socialismo utópico.

En el texto Crítica despiadada de todo lo existente, Marx incidió en alabar a los personajes de la historia que se habían detenido a analizar el mundo a través de esa misma operación: la fricción entre diferentes bloques conceptuales para crear fuego revolucionario.

En los años finales de la década de los 60 y la década de los 70, diferentes acontecimientos cambiaron el panorama político global. Desde las corrientes de pensamiento teórico de izquierdas, se analizó la obra Karl Marx a través de la crítica estructural. Varios de los colectivos que llevaron a cabo esta operación fueron: la Neue Marx-Lektüre, Theorie Communiste o la Internacional Situacionista.

Por otra parte, también surgieron vertientes ligadas al planteamiento de un futuro distópico derivado de los cambios que se estaban produciendo en el terreno económico y político. Estas representaciones, tanto literarias como fílmicas, esbozaban, en la mayoría de los casos, antítesis de las visones utópicas de futuro. Dentro de esta corriente se encontrarían películas como Alphaville de Jean Luc-Godard, Blade Runner de Ridley Scott o la serie Max Headroom.

Este proyecto se centra en la idea de crear “fuego revolucionario” mediante la fricción de bloques de conocimiento como los descritos previamente.
